Hungry protesters storm PTV canteen

ISLAMABAD: Some of the protesters, who stormed into the PTV building on Monday, ate away everything available in the canteen without paying a single rupee.

Later, they gathered at the road, which leads to the Prime Minister House, and talked about their “adventure” and said most of the PTV employees were frightened when they entered the building.

Bilal Khalid, a PAT supporter from Rawalpindi, said when they entered the canteen of the PTV, the person sitting at the counter got terrified.

“The person standing at the counter said he was also a supporter of Tahirul Qadri. But I told him that if he was a supporter of the PAT chief, he should be on the road not at his workplace. I also told him that I resigned from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to participate in the march,” he said.

Another protester, Rizwan Ahmed, said he and most of the protesters had nothing to eat on Sunday because the police did not allow trucks carrying food for the marchers to enter the Red Zone.

In reply to a question, he said 90 per cent of the protesters who entered the PTV building belonged to PAT and only 10 per cent were from the PTI.
