KARACHI, June 6 Soomar brothers — Saif and Zaid — produced awesome performance when they progressed into men's singles quarter-finals of the Maroof Trophy tennis tournament at Beach View Club on Saturday.

Seventh seed Saif knocked out promising junior Mustafa Zaidi 6-2, 6-2 while unseeded sibling Zaid inflicted 6-4, 6-3 defeat on Sikander Hayat Khan in the pre quarters.

Those who joined the above two in the last eight include top seed Nomi Qamer, second seed Nasir Mushtaq, and sixth seed Vinod Das
