Four seniors to miss hockey camp

LAHORE, Feb 20 Four seniors players Sohail Abbas, Waseem Ahmad, Rehan Butt and Salman Akbar will not take part in the important training camp of Pakistan which is to start at the National Hockey Stadium from Saturday to select national team for the two back-to-back international assignments.

The selected team is to take part in the Azlan Shah Cup to be held in Malaysia from April 3 to 12 and Asia Cup scheduled for May 8 to 15.

A PHF spokesman said that as the federation had already invited 40 probables for the camp, only 36 were reported and senior players like Sohail, Waseem, Rehan and Salman will not take part, owing to their participation in foreign league.

The PHF has made it compulsory for every probables to attend the camp for at least for three weeks.

Halves Rana Asif (Wapda), Dilawar Hussain (PIA), Muhammad Saqlain (ABL), Zeeshan Ali (KESC), Waqas Zafar (Army), Sibtain Raza (NBP), Khurram Shahzad (HBL).
