TRIPOLI, April 30: Libya announced on Tuesday that it will pay 10 million dollars to the families of each of the 270 victims who died in the 1988 bombing of a US jumbo jet over the Scottish town of Lockerbie.
Tripoli also accepted limited civil responsibility for the blast.
The payment totalling 2.7 billion dollars would be made in three stages conditional on UN and US sanctions against Libya being lifted.—AFP
