Victories for LBMC, KUC

KARACHI, April 29: Lal Bakhsh Memorial Club (LBMC) and Kalri Union Club (KUC) sailed into the pre-quarterfinal of City Zone-IV South Football Championship on Monday.

LBMC defeated Baloch Brother’s Club (BBC) 5-4 on penalties after the match ended in a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

LBMC took two goal lead in the first 50-minute of the match. Farooq scored the first goal and Anwar Zaib doubled the score.

BBC produced a spirited second half display and struck twice in 57 and 58th minutes to draw level. Abid and Ilyas slammed one goal each.

Shakir of LBMC was sent off for deliberate foul.

In the second match, KUC beat Ghulam Ali Memorial Club 5-2 on penalty kicks. The match ended in 1-1 stalemate in stipulated time. Right winger Siddique scored the opener for KUC but Sarfraz draw level by converting a spot-kick to take the match in penalty session.—APP
