ISLAMABAD, July 9 Uzbekistan on Friday beat Pakistan by 7-4 in a match of the ongoing Men's Third Indoor Hockey Tournament underway in Ipoh, Malaysia.

The first half of the match saw the players wasting several solid chances to score goals. However, they came back strongly in the second half by scoring four goals.

According to the information received here, skipper Kashif Shah scored two goals and Ahmed Zubair and Mohammad Rizwan scored one each.

Pakistan is now out of the final race as a result of the defeat.

Earlier, on Thursday Pakistan registered their first-ever win in indoor hockey by beating Thailand 6-0. But they also had to face two consecutive defeats at the hands of defending champion Iran and host Malaysia.

Pakistan will now play their final match against Kazakhstan on Saturday.—APP
