KARACHI, April 2 NED University notched up 53-43 victory over Greenwich University in the final to win the Inter-University Zone 'H' basketball tournament at their own premises on Thursday.

The winners led 32-23 at half time.

Habibullah emerged top scorer for the winning side with 17 points followed by Shahryar Zahoor 9. S. M. Sarim and Mudassir Saleem scored eight points apiece.Ali Ahmed (14) and Sajjad (12) were the principal scorers for losers.

Both the teams have qualified for the final round which will be played at the NED University from April 8.

Meanwhile, Karachi University and Iqra University qualified to meet each other in the Zone 'F' final after impos-ing victories over their opponents in pre-finals later in the day.

Defending champions and hosts of Zone 'F' competition Karachi University outplayed Aga Khan University 80-38 after enjoying 39-15 lead at breather.

The KU victory revolves around Asad Iqbal (15), Mohammad Shabbar (14), Hammad Hussain (14), Haroon Khan (11) and Adnan Ali (7).

Noman Fazal, Salman Pervaiz and Syed Muzammiluddin scored 13, 6 and 5 respectively.

The KU now faces Iqra University who in the other encounter struggled to beat Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) 51-41 in the closely fought match which was also marred by rough play. The winners trailed 23-29 at half time.

Hasan Ali (15), Ali Saleem (13), Farhan Laghari (13) and Saad Mohsin (12) were prominent for winners.

Bilal Ahmed top scored for losers with 14 followed by Ali Mazhar (8), Umair Ashraf and Mohsin six apiece.

The KU and Iqra have also secured a berth in the final round.
