Schools basketball in semis stage

KARACHI, Oct 14 Pakistan Steel Cadet College (PSCC), Karachi Grammar School (KGS), Shahwilayat Public School and The City PAF Chapter sailed into the AKU Inter-school basketball tournament semi-finals after winning their respective matches at the AKU Gymnasium here on Tuesday.

Kamal Ismail contributed 27 points to spearhead the PSCC to a 50-30 win over Beaconhouse (PECHS). Ahmed Ali (11) and Samad Ali (10) were the main contributors for the losers.

Arish Saif produced another super display with 40 points as the KGS thrashed the CAS School 60-42. Dinuka Oshadhi (18) and Mubeen Khurram (12) performed well for CAS School.

Shahwilayat Public School defeated British International School 60-35 thanks to an outstanding performance by Jauhar Hasnain (32). Shanil Poonja scored 18 points for the losers.

The City PAF Chapter beat Bayview High School 34-19 in a low-scoring game. Shazik Burney scored 13 points.—APP
