KARACHI, March 31 Mohammad Shabbar of faculties will lead Karachi University team in the Inter-University Zone 'F' basketball tournament which gets into action at the NED University gymnasium on Wednesday.

Six Universities are to vie for honours in the zonal competition which is being held under the auspices of Karachi University. Besides the KU, the other universities include Iqra, Sir Syed, Biztek, Aga Khan and Hamdard.

Top two teams will qualify for the final round which will also be staged in Karachi from April 8.

Defending champions KU and runners up Iqra have got a first round bye.

Two matches are on card for the opening day of the event which concludes on April 3.

Meanwhile, NED University will play host to the Zone 'H' competition at their premises in the morning.
