ISLAMABAD, April 26: A worker at a shrine in Dhamial was shot dead while another man was injured on Saturday.

Police said Riaz, aged 35, worked at the shrine where Jan Mohammad also worked on a part-time basis in the afternoon.

On Saturday, Jan Mohammad shot and injured Riaz over an old dispute relating to their job. The accused also beat Sain, aged 65, with the butt of a gun.

The injured were taken to the Polyclinical hospital where Riaz succumbed to his injuries while Sain was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and admitted to the neuro-surgical ward with serious head injuries, doctors said.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A married woman attempted to commit suicide over a family dispute in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Yasmin, aged 23, wife of Bashir, was taken to a local hospital, from where she was shifted to the Rawalpindi General Hospital in a critical condition. Doctors said she had received more than 45 per cent burn injuries on her body.

A 30-year-old man, Abdul Raffi, received burn injuries in his house in Taxila while baking a crisp cake.
