KHAIRPUR: Teachers protest

Published April 26, 2003

KHAIRPUR, April 25: Teachers affiliated with the Primary Teachers’ Association on Friday observed a token hunger strike to press the authorities for the acceptance of their demands.

Members and office-bearers of the PTA from various taluka converged at the Court Road, where they had set up a camp for the hunger strike.

The office-bearers of the PTA said that they had recently taken out two separate rallies but their demands were not accepted, instead, they added, teachers were victimised. They expressed surprise as to why the authorities were not paying attention towards solving their grievances.
