KARACHI, April 22: Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Khan Marwat said on Tuesday that a law would soon be presented in the provincial assembly to check unregistered private schools and other institutions, imparting substandard education.

While talking to a delegation of the Private Schools Action Committee, led by Zahid Rafiq Butt, at his office, he deplored that unregistered schools with insufficient facilities were on the rise in the city.

The delegation apprised the minister of their problems and complained that the Karachi Building Control Authority and the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation were harassing the school owners by issuing bills at commercial rates.

He regretted that most of the private schools paid just Rs600 per month to the teachers but got their signatures on receipts of Rs2500.—PPI
