Pakistan in Jr Volleyball semis

LAHORE, Aug 27 Pakistan outclassed favourites Japan 3-0 to qualify for the semifinals of the 14th Asian Junior Men's Volleyball Championship in Tehran, Iran on Wednesday.

Pakistan, which has also earned an upset victory against Australia to enter the last four for the first ever time, defeated Japan with a score line of 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.

In the first set, Pakistani spikers cruised smoothly to lead in first technical time out with the score of 8-5 and, from then onward, the team got into full rhythm. In the second set, Pakistan team changed its strategy and used different combinations to leave the opponents stunned while they doubled the lead.

In the last set, Pakistan completed the easy win through tough blocking and sizzling service from Zaheer Khan, Naeem Jan, Farooq Khan and Zaheer Abbas.
