HYDERABAD, Oct 21 An accused in police custody tried to commit suicide in A-section police station's lavatory on Monday, police claimed.

He has been admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) of Civil Hospital Hyderabad here on Monday.

Arif son of Yunus is an accused of a murder case, lodged with B-section police station. Due to non-existence of a lock-up, he was kept at A-section police station for interrogation in the murder case of a policeman, whom he had stabbed during mobile snatching several months back.

On Sunday night he went to lavatory where he tried to hang himself with a chaddar. But he was shifted to hospital on time and has been admitted to ICU. Another case has been lodged against him at A-section police station.
