SUKKUR: Two peasants kidnapped

SUKKUR, Feb 25 Armed dacoits kidnapped two peasants from the katcha area of Andal Sundrani in Ghotki district on Tuesday night.

The two, residents of Wali Mohammad Abro village, Miro Unnar and Ismail Mirani went to irrigate their farm lands late on Tuesday but failed to return back home which worried their relatives.On Wednesday morning, people went in search of them found their shoes and shovels on the agricultural land. People feared their kidnapping and informed police about it.

However, police were following the dacoits but no recovery was reported till the filing of this story.

Our Jacobabad correspondent adds Jacobabad police recovered three kidnapped men after an encounter with dacoits at Lal Shah Laro in Garhi Khairo area on Tuesday night. PPP leader Mohammad Chhuttal Lohar was among those recovered.

A heavy police contingent cordoned off the area on receiving information of the presence of kidnappers there, said acting DPO Shabbir Ali Shahani while talking to journalists.

He said that an encounter took place near Lal Shah Laro between police and dacoits. Dacoits fled the scene leaving kidnapped people behind.

They said that the outlaws had demanded ransom of Rs10 million.
