KARACHI, Dec 7: The Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Syed Saeed Ashhad, was sworn in as acting governor of Sindh at a ceremony held here in the Governor’s House on Friday.

He will act as governor in the absence of Governor Mohammedmian Soomro who left for Saudi Arabia on Thursday on a 19-day leave to perform Umrah.

Justice Ashhad was administered oath by Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, Senior Judge of the Sindh High Court.

Later, the acting governor administered oath to Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed to act as chief justice of the Sindh High Court.

The simple ceremony was attended by provincial ministers, judges of the Sindh High Court and senior civil and military officers.—APP
