KASUR, April 17: A man was killed while six others sustained injuries in a road accident near Sarai Chheena village here on Thursday.

Police said that a wagon (3197-ST) going to Phoolnagar from Chunian crashed into a bus (LXK-3197) at high speed. Wagon passenger Muhammad Riaz died instantly and six others received injuries. The injured — Maqbool Ahmad, Jan Muhammad, Haji Shah Muhammad, Muhammad Malik were rushed to Phoolnagar RHC while Nazir Ali and Sharif were shifted to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, for their critical condition.

Phoolnagar police have registered a case against the absconding drivers.

STRANGLED: A man strangled to death on Thursday the widow of his brother over a property dispute in Mudkey Dhariwal village.

Police said Ghulam Muhammad along with his four accomplices strangled Begum Bibi and threw her body in BS Link Canal. After few hours, some villagers spotted her body and informed her family.

On the report of deceased’s brother Riaz Ahmad, Raiwind Saddar police have registered a case against Ghulam Muhammad and his accomplices.
