ISLAMABAD Former Director Federal Investigation Agency Malik Mumtaz on Friday accused Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Law Minister Dr Babar Awan of conspiring against President Asif Ali Zardari and advised the president to distance himself from corrupt politicians.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Mumtaz blamed Malik and Awan of trying to create rift between the government and the judiciary.

He expressed concerns over delay in releasing of the UN probe report of Benazir Bhuttos murder.

The former director FIA said that on April 8 his office was attacked by some people in guise of PPP workers because he had discussed in a TV channel that Rehman Malik and Babar Awan had fled from Liaqat Bagh right before Benazir Bhuttos murder.—DawnNews
