KARACHI Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed said on Friday that his party wanted the unification of all the factions of Muslim League and that it was not necessary that Musharraf helped in forming it.

While talking to media in Karachi, he said the next three months were important for the government and if it manages to survive the time it may sustain in the future.

Rasheed said more than 80 per cent of the tax was forcibly taken from the poor classes.

He asked why doesn't the government impose taxes on the stock exchange and the land owners?
 
The AML chief demanded that the government announce a people-friendly budget.

He said Pakistan became a nuclear power because of India's lack of political sensibility and added that Pakistan should go ahead with its missile technology without fearing the US.

Rasheed said all political parties, including the PPP and the PML-N, were working for the interests of the US.—DawnNews
