NAWABSHAH, April 27 Dozens of people, including women and children, fainted due to scorching heat in Nawabshah and adjoining areas as temperature rose to 48 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

The roads and streets of the city wore a deserted look on the hottest day of the current season.

The prices of ice and soft drinks shot up with an increase in the temperature.—BoC
