LAHORE, Dec 16 Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry of the Lahore High Court has directed the Attock district police officer to produce on Thursday (today) a Sikh lawyer, involved in a case of house trespassing and torturing the inmates.

The judge issued this order on a quashment petition filed by lawyer Anop Singh, of Pindi Ghep, through his counsel Arif Chaudhry.

The counsel submitted that Anop Singh, being a professional lawyer, was contesting a divorce case on behalf of Safia Begum against her husband, Muhammad Amin.

The counsel said Amin had nurtured a grudge against Anop and implicated him in a case with the help of police to settle his score. The accused (Amin) also cut off the beard of Anop Singh in police custody besides subjecting him to severe torture, the counsel said.

He requested the court to quash the FIR registered against the lawyer by declaring it as without lawful authority and based on mala fide intention.
