Eight militants found dead in Kohat

Published February 22, 2010

KOHAT, Feb 21 Eight suspected militants were found dead in Turky Ismail area of the Kohat Frontier Region on Sunday.

The area residents said that bodies were lying in a pond near a school, adding that they seemed to be non-locals.

An ambulance sent by police to take the bodies to hospital was not allowed to enter the tribal territory. Mystery shrouded the incident because usually militants killed during an operation are taken away by security forces.

Meanwhile, troops seized arms and ammunition during a search of houses of some suspects. — Correspondent
