SUKKUR, May 12 Four people were killed when two groups of Mahar and Jatoi tribes exchanged fire in Rehmatullah Mahar village in the limits of Daim Malik police station near Lakhi Ghulam Shah on Wednesday.

The Jatoi armed men attacked the village to exact revenge for some past actions they deemed insulting and opened fire at villagers, seriously injuring Rehmatullah Mahar and killing his son Mumtaz Ali Mahar, 20.

The Mahar tribals returned fire, killing Qurban Ali Jatoi, 35, and seriously injuring Ameer Din Jatoi and Yaseen Jatoi who died after some time.

Area police reached the village and took bodies to a nearby hospital for post mortem.

Meanwhile, two brothers reportedly killed their sister in Mughal Golo village near Kandhkot late on Tuesday night on suspicion she had illicit relations with someone.

Zulfiqar Golo and Ghulam Qadir Golo opened fire at their sister and killed her on the spot. They fled after the murder.
