Published October 27, 2010

DADU, Oct 26 Zamzama Gas Field of the BHP on Tuesday suspended supply to the SSGC and the SNGP. The oil and gas exploration company is located in Bahawalpur Union Council of Johi taluka.

Suspension of gas supply is stated to be a routine annual gas shutdown on account of repair and maintenance. Gas production from the filed is estimated at 43 cubic feet per day while supply from the well situated near Pir Mushaikh is suspended since last two months when floodwater inundated that area.

Manager External Affairs and Community Development, BHP, Humaira Malik told Dawn that the shutdown was routine and was effected after due permission from the ministry of petroleum for cleaning the machinery and routine check up. She said the supply would be restored soon after the cleaning of machinery.—Correspondent
