LAHORE, Aug 16 Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith Amir Senator Prof Sajid Mir has said accountability of Gen Pervez Musharraf (retired) under Article 6 of the Constitution was a must so that adventurers think twice before violating the constitution.

At seminar 'Solidarity of Pakistan' at the Jamiat head office on Ravi Road here on Sunday, Prof Mir said that political stability would not be possible unless the supremacy of constitution was respected and the armed forces gave an assurance that they would not disrupt the political process.

He said the government should not spare Gen Pervez Musharraf (retired) under any circumstances because he had not only violated the Constitution but also harmed the Kashmir cause.

He said that terrorism would not be controlled as long as there was injustice in society.

Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that there was neither democracy nor Islamic system in Pakistan.

He said the armed forces had been responsible for political turmoil in the country in the past but military operation in Swat had been launched to please the US.
