KARACHI, April 11: An unidentified man died in a hit-and-run accident in Malir City on Friday.

The police said an unidentified man was run over by a speeding vehicle while walking across the National Highway. He died on the spot.

The body was sent to the JPMC for autopsy.

A young man died when his vehicle overturned near Azmat Hospital in Azizabad.

The police said Mohammed Arif, aged 30, was driving his vehicle (AAP-798) when it overturned.

He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from where he was referred to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

A young man died and his companion was injured when their vehicle overturned on Sharea Faisal late Thursday night.

The police said a Suzuki hi-roof (KG-8116) overturned near Aisha Bawani School. The driver of the vehicle, Shoaib, and his companion, Amin, were injured. They were rushed to the JPMC were doctors declared Shoaib dead on arrival. Amin was admitted to the hospital.

DIES: A man died when a boy hit him on the head with a cricket bat in Gulzar-i-Hijri late Thursday night.

The police said Mohammed Rafiq, aged 58, objected to boys playing cricket in Younis Bungalows at sector 1-A/6 of Gulzar-i-Hijri. He had arguments with one of the boys who struck him on the head with a cricket bat.

Rafiq was referred to a nearby private hospital from where he was referred to the JPMC where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

A case had been registered against five suspects, the police said.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A teenager attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself in his house at Gulzar-i-Hijri Friday.

The police said Mujahid Ali, aged 13, shot himself in his house at Gul goth.

He has been admitted to the JPMC.

The police said Mujahid’s father, Asghar Ali, scolded him in the morning for not going to school.
