LAHORE The 1986 national title-holders Pakistan Air Force (PAF) recorded their third win when they edged out KPT at the PAF Complex, Peshawar, in Pakistan Premier Football League's 35th encounter.

PAF, struck the goals at the stroke of half time and full time to overcome KPT 2-0, who saw their second keeper getting the red card and leave the ground.

KPT's goalkeeping department is in total disarray and it was Fateh Mohammad's turn to get the marching orders from referee Mohammad Amin in the 12th minute and the outfit had to play the remaining match with 10 men and defender Majid Ali was asked by former international midfielder Nawaz Rehman, now KPT coach, to do the keeping.

PAF were clearly the better side during the initial exchanges and their work became even easier when the keeper was removed from the field. Opportunist PAF striker Mohammad Iqbal opened the scoring in the 45th minute after fine work by midfielder Arshed Jan on the left yielded a penalty kick which Iqbal converted. Midfielder Mohammad Zeeshan put the game beyond KPT with a powerful strike in the closing seconds of the match.

Although the port men frontrunners did trouble PAF keeper Khalid Khan on break away but their finishing was not up to the mark.

Tuesday's fixtures Army v HBL at Army Sports Complex, Rawalpindi; KRL v Afghan FC at KRL Stadia, Rawalpindi, Navy v Nushki Baloch FC at Naval Complex, Islamabad. Matches kick off at 5.00pm.—Agencies
