KARACHI, April 8: Bandits shot dead a man in Shaheed-i-Millat Road on Tuesday.

The police said Azam Ali, aged 50, and his wife returned to their residence at Empire Square in their car. As they were parking the car in the parking area, two young men riding a motorcycle appeared there and tried to snatch cash from them.

When Azam tried to put up to resistance to the bandits, they opened fire on him and escaped. Azam died on the spot.

The bandits left behind the cash.

The police said the dead man was coming from a bank after withdrawing cash.

ACCIDENT: A cleaner died when he came under the wheels of a water tanker in New Town on Tuesday.

The police said cleaner Sardar Khan, aged 24, was repairing a water tanker (LSD-4707) lying under it when the driver, Gul Hakim, ran the vehicle over him.
