SALTA Pakistan hockey players flexed their muscles in a training session to overcome jetlag after finally landing in Salta before competing in the Champions Challenge-I Cup being played there from Dec 6 to 13.

The team travelled by air for almost two days to reach South America to try its luck in qualifying for next year's Champions Trophy.

The team members were visibly fatigued after a tiresome journey and they had a full night's rest after arriving on Tuesday night from Buenos Aires via Dubai.

Chief Coach Shahid Ali Khan assisted by coach Shafqat Malik conducted a two-hour long rigorous training session in which the players got a chance to stretch their muscles.

'We will be starting match practice tomorrow as we want to give ample time to the boys to overcome anxiety and jetlag,' said Shahid while speaking to the media after the training session.

Besides Pakistan, the other teams participating in the event are China, Canada, India, South Africa, Belgium, New Zealand and Argentina. The final will be played on December 14.—APP
