KOHAT, Nov 29 A barbershop was blown up by militants in Shakardarrra Town here on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses said that the bomb had been planted inside the barbershop in the Habib market in the main bazaar. It went off with a bang destroying the barbershop completely besides damaging at least 11 other shops partially.

The barbers in the area closed their shops in protest and announced that they would not shave beards. It was the third attack in the town by the militants. Earlier they had targeted CD shops and police stations.

Shakardarra police registered a case against unknown terrorists and started investigations.

Officials said that militants were carrying out attacks in the region as scare tactics so that the foreigners, employed by oil and gas exploration companies, go back and the firms stop their work in the region.

However, they claimed, the local administration had made foolproof security arrangements for the foreigners and advised them to inform the police control room while moving from their base to any area outside Kohat and Karak districts.

TWO KILLED Two people including a woman were killed and one injured in different incidents in Kohat on Saturday.

A man was shot dead reportedly by his rivals in the Kohat bazaar who was returning with his uncle from the local courts. Tariq died on way to Peshawar while his uncle Arif Gul survived the attack.

The culprits managed to escape. The city police registered a murder case against one Daud.

In another incident, a woman was allegedly killed by his brothers on charges of having illicit relations with a person.

Accused Akmal Sattar, Asad Sattar and Sheraz Sattar killed their sister Eid Razia and injured Hafeezur Rehman in Mohallah Haiderkhel area of Shakardarra. The police have nominated the brothers in a case and started raids to arrest them.
