HYDERABAD: Rally for peace

HYDERABAD, Feb 15 Activists of Pakhtoonkhaw Students Organisation staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday to protest against continued military operation in Swat and described it a a conspiracy against Pushtoon community.

They held both military authorities and terrorists responsible for the present situation in Swat and alleged that they were working in collusion to destroy the peaceful valley.

They said that under a conspiracy schools were being destroyed in order to deprive Pakhtoons of education so that they could not raise their voice for their rights.

They said that so far 250 schools had been destroyed in Swat where operation was aimed at crushing Pakhtoons rather terrorists.

They said that Pakhtoons were being insulted and humiliated while even jirga and burials are not safe in Swat. They called upon the United Nations and other international and national organisations to increase diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to weed out terrorism from Swat. —Staff Correspondent
