HYDERABAD, April 22 General Secretary of PML-F Sindh Nawab Rashid Ali Khan has called for convening a national level conference of ulema where TNSM chief Sufi Mohammad should also be invited to decide which sort of governance would be accepted in the country. He said that present situation demands that people should take care of their own protection instead of relying on police and government.

He was speaking at a lunch hosted in honour of journalists by PML-F Sindh women wing general secretary Zaibun Nisa Mallah at a local hotel here on Wednesday. Faqir Manthar and Zaibun Nisa Mallah also spoke. He supported stance of MQM chief Altaf Hussain regarding his apprehensions about Taliban's influence in Sindh.

He said that time has come that people should give a serious thought to what Altaf Hussain is saying. He said that prevailing situation demands that people should take care of their own safety on their own instead of depending on police and government.

He expressed concern over prevailing situation in the country. He added that Taliban have made their presence felt in NWFP and Punjab but Sindh has so far remained safe. But, he said, people need to think seriously to fears being expressed by Altaf Hussain regarding talbanisation in Sindh.

He said that Islam doesn't permit violence against women or education institutions as has recently been witnessed in various parts of the country. He added that no law which is repugnant to Islamic teachings could be allowed in Pakistan.

He said that a national level conference should be convened where Sufi Mohammad should also be invited to decide which sort of governance is needed in Pakistan. “We need to protect ourselves on our own. People shouldn't be dependent on police and government. They should keep a close vigil on movements of miscreants and suspicious people”, he said.
