Asian snooker postponed

KARACHI, April 1: Asian Confederation of Billiards Sport (ACBS) on Tuesday decided to postponed the 20th Asian Snooker Championship schedule to be held at Kolkata (India) from April 18-26 due to outbreak of Sars Pneumonia.

According to an e-mail message received by Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Tuesday afternoon, it was put off due to present SARS Pneumonia gripped in Far and South East Asia.

However, ACBS decided to hold the event sometime in July next, once the situation improves.

It may be mentioned here that Deputy Airport Health Officer Dr Asit Chowdhury Kolkata had suggested to Billiards and Snooker Federation of India to postpone the championship because of Mars Pneumonia.—APP
