KARACHI: SMC students call on CM

KARACHI, April 1: A delegation of 23 medical students on Tuesday called on Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar, at the chief minister’s house, and apprised him of various problems faced by the Sindh Medical College and other institutions of the province.

The delegation was headed by Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, a member of the National Assembly. The chief minister assured them of every help for the solution of those problems.

Speaker National Assembly, Chaudhary Amir Hussain, also called on the chief minister and discussed the ongoing development schemes and other issues.

The chief minister apprised the speaker of different development schemes in the province. He said that for effective education in each Taluka, two model schools, one each for boys and girls, had been selected where English would be the medium from class one. Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Marwat was also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has announced that a medical college would be established in Sukkur and the provincial health department had been directed to make necessary arrangements including provision of funds for the purpose.—PPI
