HYDERABAD, Oct 10: The Division Bench of Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit has issued notices to respondents on another constitutional petition.

Haji Abdullah Dawoodani filed the petition through lawyer Jhamatmal Jethanand.

Abdul Shakoor Leghari, Returning Officer and Senior Civil Judge of Tando Allahyar and the District Sessions Judge of Hyderabad have been named as respondents.

He claimed that he had filed nomination form for the seat of Nazim of UC-8, Pak Singhar, Tando Allahyar, and added that he had submitted details of bank accounts and requested the same may be treated as part of assets, declared by him.

The RO heard the objections and rejected his nomination form. He filed an appeal before the Sessions Judge of Hyderabad who also dismissed it.

The lawyer maintained that he declared his assets worth Rs67,00,000/- and since very nominal amounts were lying in the petitioner’s accounts the same were, therefore, disclosed due to bona fide error.

He submitted that during the scrutiny he obtained details of accounts and submitted the details in writing and requested the RO to treat said details as part of assets.

He said that omission by the petitioner not to disclose amounts in the bank was corrected before the scrutiny. He submitted that the form of petitioner was not liable to be rejected under provisions of Rule 18 of the Sindh Local Government Election Rules.
