KARACHI Pakistan Squash Federation's (PSF) secretary Irfan Asghar said on Thursday that Aamir Atlas Khan's victory over world No 1 in the recently held Qatar Classic Open is an honour for the Pakistan squash and will boost the morale of other Pakistani squash players.

'It is great to see one of our players beating world No 1 Gregory Gaultier. Aamir is a talented player and of course this win would boost his morale and of other players in the country,' Irfan told newsmen.

Irfan went on to add 'We have great talent in squash but our boys fail to put up consistent show. They should maintain their form and regularly perform. This will help them improve their International rankings.'

He said that Aamir's win over a World No1 would also help international squash's return to Pakistan. 'It would send the message to the world that Pakistan squash has a contemporary place in International calendar.'—PPI
