KOHAT: 15-year-old found dead

KOHAT, March 26: A 15-years-old allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in a Madressah near Kings Gate on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Shakirullah came from a very poor family of North Waziristan Agency. It is said that he was severely beaten by his teacher when he said he did not want to learn the Holy Quran by heart and wanted to go home.

On Tuesday afternoon some students Shakirullah hanging from a fan.

The police said that a note was found in his pocket which said that he was committing suicide because he did not want to become a Hafiz, and that no one was responsible for his death.

A case has been registered at the political police chowki and investigation into the boy’s death had begin. It is said that almost 80 per cent of students of these Madressahs belonged to tribal areas.
