NEW DELHI, March 25: India on Tuesday squarely laid the blame for the massacre of 24 Hindus in held Kashmir on Pakistan.

“We have reason to believe that all these terrorist activities are being carried out at the behest of Pakistan,” Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha told reporters after an emergency meeting of the cabinet security committee.

None of Kashmir’s two dozen rebel groups has accepted responsibility and Pakistan had denied involvement.

The foreign minister said that Mr Advani and Defence Minister George Fernandes would in the next few days meet with Kashmiri leaders to assess security in the occupied Kashmir.—AFP
