ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 The Sports Board (PSB) dissolved the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Friday for 'violating' its constitution.

A senior officer of the PSB, Azam Dar, said “The removal of the federation has become imperative to save the future of the game.” Following the dissolution of the PTF, the Director General of PSB, Amir Hamza Gilani, has formed a three-member ad hoc committee, to be headed by federal Culture Minister Pir Aftab Shah Jilani.

Sources in the PSB said the PTF had committed several violations, including inordinate delay in holding elections of the federation which had fallen due in April this year.

Before the dissolution, the PTF was being headed by Senator Dilawar Abbas.
