MINGORA, Aug 24 Seven sasti roti tandoors (ovens) have been set up here for the people of violence-ravaged Swat valley.

Swat media centre spokesman Colonel Akhtar said roti at these tandoors would be sold at Rs2 to the people of Gulshan Chowk, Green Chowk, Nawi Kalley Chowk, and Balogram. He said the army had provided free of cost wheat flour to these tandoors so they were bound to provide sasti roti at Rs2 to the affected people. He said the tandoors would continue until end of Ramazan. He said the number of these tandoors would be increased and extended to other areas of the district.

Our Correspondent from Bakhela adds The army has provided free of cost flour to the tandoors in Batkhela to provide roti to the people of the area at Rs3 during Ramazan.

The nanbais in Batkhela confirmed that the army had provided free of cost wheat four to them. They said a large number of people from far flung areas were standing in queues to get the sasti roti. —Correspondent
