Two SHOs suspended in Gilgit

GILGIT, Dec 17 The Inspector General Police Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Tehsin Anwar Ali suspended the station house officers of city and cantt police stations and directed them to report to Police Lines, police spokesman told Dawn on Thursday.

The spokesman said that Inspectors Hafizur Rehman and Ibrahim Hussain were removed from their positions due to unsatisfactory performance.

RALLY A rally was taken out by activists of PPP youth from the party Central Secretariat to express solidarity with President Asif Ali Zardari. The rally, led by PYO leader Shehzad Noori, reached Shaheed Banazir Chowk and turned in to a public meeting.

The participants of the rally held placards and banners in their hands inscribed with slogans in favour of the president.

Addressing the public meeting Shehzad Noori said that anti-democratic forces would be defeated by the people.
