KARACHI, March 16: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has expressed concern for the safety of the people of Iraq as a war looms over that country and for Pakistan as its fallout.

Speaking over the telephone to a gathering attending the Chehlum of MQM leader Khalid Bin Waleed on Sunday, he prayed that Allah create such circumstances that war was averted and the innocent people of Iraq were saved from its ravages. He also prayed that Pakistan be saved from the consequences of a war.

Meanwhile, preparations have been made to celebrate the 19th founding day of the MQM on Tuesday in all cities and towns of the province, where arrangements have also been made for Mr Hussain’s telephone address.
