KARACHI Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik ordered SHOs from the violence-affected areas of Karachi to form peace committees on Tuesday. He also urged to set up a special cell in cooperation with the ISI and IB.
 
While presiding at a law and order meeting at the CM House in Karachi, the interior minister said that the Rangers have shoot-at-sight authority in the affected areas. He also urged for strong action against those in possession of weapons in sensitive areas.

Malik ordered ISI and IB officials to set up a special cell which will operate with the help of police.
 
Malik announced awards for policemen who took part in the Dalmia operation.

The interior minister also announced the establishment of a special cell in the National Crises Management Cell for terrorists alert. He said that calling in the FC in Karachi is in the jurisdiction of the Provincial home department.

Malik Rehman commended MQM leader Altaf Hussain and ANP chief Asfand Yar wali for restoring peace in Karachi.
