KARACHI: CPNE body meets on 20th

KARACHI, March 13: The standing committee of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) will meet at the Avari Towers, Karachi, on Thursday March 20, 2003 at 11am under the chairmanship of CPNE President Mr Mujibur Rahman Shami.

The agenda for the meeting includes government-press relations review, consideration of communication received from federal information ministry regarding legal notice received by the ministry calling upon it to restrain newspapers and periodicals from publishing verses from the Holy Quran in order to preserve the sanctity of these verses, arrangements for the annual function of the CPNE.
