DSL in Chitral?

Published October 16, 2009

A FEW days back some PTCL consumers received a call from 0423 5503497 (Lahore Call Centre) about the start of DSL service in Chitral district. The caller even took the identity numbers, telephone numbers and detailed addresses for prior registration.

She also mentioned that modems would be installed within three days.

When PTCL officials in Chitral were contacted, they said that they did not have any such information. They also added that they needed at least six months to set up such installation to operate DSL service.

Those who have already registered themselves for the facility are just marking their time.

It may be mentioned here that DSL service has already been provided to Mardan, Taimargarah, Gilgit and Skardu areas.

The PTCL highups need to probe this misinformation and also take immediate steps to start DSL service for Chitral district.
