KARACHI, March 12: The Karachi University Teachers’ Society held a rally against the implementation of the Model University Ordinance on the campus on Wednesday.

A number of teachers and students participated in the rally and demanded of the government to stop implementation on the MUO, which, they said, was aimed at achieving the targets of the World Bank to commercialize the public sector educational facilities.

Speaking at the protest rally by the Federation of the All Pakistan University Academic Staff Associations, speakers, including KUTS office bearers, resolved that the ordinance was nothing but a move to commercialize education.
