VEHARI, Nov 30: Five unidentified dacoits on Thursday night looted a house and injured a man on resistance in Chak 188/W.B.

Armed dacoits burst into the house of Chiragh Din Bhatti, held the family hostage and started scooping cash. The intruders opened fire on Chiragh and his brother Asghar when they got hold of one of the dacoits. As a result, Asghar sustained serious bullet wounds. The four dacoits however managed to flee with the booty. The injured was admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.

Saddar police have taken the dacoit, identified as Akhtar, in their custody and are investigating.
