KARACHI, March 7: Farooq H. Naek, Senator-elect and lawyer for Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, has lodged a complaint with the Defence Police, apprehending threat to his life and to his family members.

“Since I have been elected to the Senate, a man who could be a terrorist has come to my house on motorbike number (KCI-8758) at least three times and has asked questions about me, without disclosing his own identity,” Mr Naek told Dawn.

Mr Naek said that such threats reflected weaknesses in the government’s security net and willingness to handle the law and order matter seriously.

He said if members of the parliament felt threatened by such elements, how could one believe in the government’s claim of providing security to the common man.

He urged the government to take measures and apprehend the culprit.
