THATTA, March 3: The residents of five towns and dozens of villages of Mirpur Bathoro taluka are facing problems due to daily 12 to 16 hours electricity shutdowns.

The caused by renovation work on a power line in the area for the last one month.

A private firm has been assigned to install a concrete pole each in between two already-erected iron poles throughout the 24km-long line from Sujawal grid station to Mirpur Bathoro town.

The work on new wires and more resistible insulators will take another two months after the poles are erected and only then the power supply to the taluka can be brought to normal.

The area residents are facing problems and rice husking units, oil expellers, basic health units and traders have sustained financial losses due to the continuous power breakdowns.
