SHO injured in encounter

MINGORA, March 1: The station house officer (SHO) of police station Khwazakhela received bullet injuries in an encounter on Fridy and rounded up three accused.

The police raided a house in the Bandai Colony of Khwazakhela to apprehend a proclaimed offender Hassan Dad, son of Mohammad Dost, but he escaped after an exchange of fire with police.

The SHO was informed that the accused had no arms, but when he went to apprehend him, he was fired upon and received minor bullet injuries.

Later, the SSP of Swat Qudratullah Marwat with a police party arrested three of the accused with arms. Those arrested included: Umer Ali son of Fazal Qadeem, Shaukat son of Mohammad Umer, and Umer Ali son of Gul Mohammad of the Khwazakhela areas.

SHOT DEAD: One Abdul Kabir son of Mohammad Noor, resident of Shahdherai was shot dead by some unknown persons on Thursday night near the general bus stand here.

It was reported that when he came out of his shop some unidentified persons shot him dead. The police have registered a case.

DEMONSTRATION: A protest demonstration was held here on Friday at the Green chowk under the aegis of the Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) against the united States of America. Fazal Hameed, nazim Mingora and Akhtar Ali Khan amir of Jamaat Islami Mingora addressed the gathering.

The speakers condemned the US for its anti-Muslim polices all over the world. They said that everywhere the Muslims were being subjected to tyrannies and atrocities, but the Muslims were not ready even to take a united stand in this regard. They urged the government not to support the US against Iraq.
